Climate Change

The Climate Change Programme of the World Council of Churches
is coordinated by Dr. David Hallman (Canada). This booklet is a
collection of some of his recent contributions and other key texts that
were developed by the WCC Working Group on Climate Change under
his leadership. We want to express our sincere gratitude to David for
his extraordinary skills, the energy and time he has dedicated to this
programme. We also add a statement on Climte Change by HAH the
Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I.

Ministerial Formation, issue 104, January 2005

The articles in this issue sample a spirit of resistance to evil as experiences through violent acts in the Philippines, Nicaragua, Democratic Republic of Congo, Myanmar and Russia. In many cases, church leaders remain silent and oblivious to violence and abuse of power in the home, the church and in society in general. New group of ecumenical accompaniers joins the EAPPI

A new group of 15 ecumenical accompaniers arrived in Israel and Palestine last week. They join six staying on from the previous group, bringing the total number on the ground in the Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel (EAPPI) to 21.

Befreiung aus zu engen Grenzen: Konsultation über die ökumenische Bewegung im 21. Jahrhundert

"Der Tisch ist gross genug für uns alle", sagt Samuel Kobia, Generalsekretär des Ökumenischen Rates der Kirchen (ÖRK), anlässlich einer Tagung zur Zukunft der ökumenischen Bewegung, die vom 30. November - 3. Dezember in der Nähe von Genf stattfand und durch das weite Spektrum, aus dem die Teilnehmenden kamen, bisher einzigartig war. Kobia bekräftigt in diesem Zusammenhang die Aufgabe des ÖRK, eine "fortgesetzte und intensivere Beteiligung all derer zu erleichtern, die sich der ökumenischen Bewegung verpflichtet fühlen, auch derjenigen, die nicht Mitglied des ÖRK sind".

A call to go beyond institutions: Consultation on Ecumenism in the 21st century

"The table is big enough for all of us" said the World Council of Churches general secretary Rev. Dr Samuel Kobia at a 30 November-3 December unprecedented meeting near Geneva, affirming the World Council of Churches' (WCC) role of "facilitating the further and deeper participation of all those involved in the ecumenical movement, including those that are not members of the WCC."

Oser dépasser les institutions: Colloque sur l’oecuménisme au 21e siècle

"La table est assez grande pour nous tous", a déclaré le pasteur Samuel Kobia, secrétaire général du Conseil oecuménique des Eglises (COE), lors d’une rencontre sans précédent tenue près de Genève du 30 novembre au 3 décembre, en réaffirmant que le rôle du Conseil est "de permettre la participation plus large et plus approfondie de tous ceux qui sont engagés dans le mouvement oecuménique, y compris ceux qui ne sont pas membres du COE."
