18th Building Bridges Seminar

The eighteenth Building Bridges Seminar will meet 11–15 June 2019 in the Ecumenical Institute of Bossey in Geneva, Switzerland. An international circle of scholars will engage in close reading and dialogue on the topic of freedom—between humanity and God, different religions and politics, personal conviction and public order, and between individuals— exploring the historic role of faith communities in addressing freedom.

Christianity and human rights in multi-faith Nigeria

The Nigerian Patriarch His Holiness Pope Dr Rufus Okikiola Ositelu, Primate and Metropolitan Archbishop of the Church of The Lord (Prayer Fellowship) Worldwide is visiting Geneva and the WCC 29-30 January 2018. A public panel on "Christianity and human rights in multi-faith Nigeria", hosted by WCC, will take place 29 January at 14.00-15.30, at the Ecumenical Centre in Geneva. The event is followed by a press briefing.

Ecology, theology and justice in practice

This seminar will make the link between ecology, theology and justice visible, and draw attention to the potential for churches to develop viable, applied ethical responses and alternatives to the menace to nature from within their traditions. At the same time the seminar will provide insights into eco-theological discourses which emphasize the necessity of processes of mutual critique between ecology and theology in order to promote the common aim of a sustainable world for tomorrow.
