WCC executive committee appoints three new WCC staff leaders

The World Council of Churches (WCC) executive committee has appointed, by consensus, three new WCC staff leaders: a programme director for Unity and Mission; a programme director for Public Witness and Diakonia; and a director of the Commission on World Mission and Evangelism.

Churches will share perspectives on human dignity amidst escalating conflicts

Addressing the challenges for a common vision of churches on human rights today, the international conference “Christian Perspectives on Human Dignity and Human Rights” will take place on 9-12 April in Wuppertal, Germany. Everyone is invited to follow the public session of the conference on 11 April, when a panel of the keynote speakers will bring together biblical, theological and practical perspectives on human dignity.

WCC central committee welcomes new member churches

The World Council of Churches (WCC) fellowship has grown to 352 member churches in 120 countries after the WCC central committee welcomed new member churches, the First African Church Mission (Nigeria) and the Apostolic Faith Mission South Africa. Both churches were invited to send delegations to the WCC 11th Assembly.
