A webinar, “Nicaea and the Peace Witness of the Church,” held 15 July, featured a panel discussion exploring the significance and emergence of the Nicene Creed from a Mennonite/Anabaptist perspective, and how this influences the peace witness of the church.

The World Communion of Reformed Churches held a 150th anniversary service on 12 July at the American International Church in London. The event was hosted by the United Reformed Church. 

The World Council of Churches (WCC) participated in the 8th Annual Conference of the European Academy of Religion, being held in Vienna, Austria from 8-12 July. The overarching theme of the conference is "Religion and Socio-Cultural Transformation: European Perspectives and Beyond” and it hosted approximately 1,000 participants.

The Latin American and Caribbean Nicaea 1700 Years conference took place in Guatemala City 1-3 July. Faith, unity, and hope is the theme that brought together more than 80 people from 15 countries across the continent.

A planning meeting for the World Council of Churches (WCC) Sixth World Conference on Faith and Order and the Global Ecumenical Theological Institute 2025 (GETI) convened in St Bishoy Monastery in Egypt 28-29 June. The hybrid gathering focused on logistics, a stewards programme, communications, church and cultural visits, and budget.

In a message coinciding with the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development, faith-based groups representing more than 600 million Christians worldwide noted a “critical moment” for global financial transformation.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) expressed deep sorrow upon the passing of Emmaus Maria Voce, the first president of the Focolare Movement after its founder Chiara Lubich. “On behalf of the World Council of Churches, I extend our heartfelt condolences to you and the entire Focolare community,” wrote WCC general secretary Rev.
