This document offers a summary of the Ninth report from the Joint Working Group between the Roman Catholic Church and the WCC, which relates the focus and work of the group from 2007 through 2012. As the group approaches its fiftieth year, its recent foci include in-depth work on the notion of ecclesial reception of ecumenical work, the spiritual roots of ecumenism, church participation of youth, and emerging work on migration.

The WCC gives thanks to God for the life of Emilio Castro, who served for nearly twenty years as a leading member of the WCC staff, and from 1985 to 1992 as our fourth general secretary. Dr Castro passed away in Montevideo, Uruguay on the evening of Saturday 6 April 2013 at the age of 85.

Die Kommission für Weltmission und Evangelisation (CWME) hat seit der Vollversammlung des ÖRK 2006 in Porto Alegre an einer neuen ökumenischen Missionserklärung gearbeitet. Die neue Erklärung wird der 10. ÖRK-Vollversammlung 2013 in Busan (Korea) vorgelegt werden. Seit dem Zusammenschluss des Internationalen Missionsrats (IMR) und des Ökumenischen Rates der Kirchen (ÖRK) 1961 in Neu-Delhi hat es nur eine offizielle Grundsatzerklärung des ÖRK zu Mission und Evangelisation gegeben, die vom Zentralausschuss 1982 unter der Überschrift „Mission und Evangelisation – eine ökumenische Erklärung“ angenommen wurde. Diese neue Missionserklärung wurde vom ÖRK-Zentralausschuss auf seiner Tagung in Kreta, Griechenland, am 5. September 2012 einstimmig angenommen. Ziel der vorliegenden ökumenischen Studie und Reflexion ist es, eine Vision, Konzepte und Wegweisungen für ein neues Verständnis und eine erneuerte Praxis der Mission und Evangelisation in sich verändernden Kontexten zu entfalten. Sie strebt eine Wirkung über den Kreis der ÖRK-Mitgliedskirchen und angegliederter Missionsorgansationen hinaus an, so dass wir uns, geleitet vom Gott des Lebens, gemeinsam dafür einsetzen können, dass alle Menschen an der Fülle des Lebens Anteil haben!

The CWME has, since the WCC 9th Assembly in 2006, been working and contributing toward the construction of a new ecumenical mission affirmation. The new statement will be presented to the WCC 10th assembly at Busan, Korea, in 2013.

Desde 2006, tras la Asamblea del CMI celebrada en Porto Alegre, la Comisión de Misión Mundial y Evangelización ha estado trabajando y colaborando en la elaboración de una nueva afirmación ecuménica sobre la misión. La nueva declaración se presentará en la 10ª Asamblea del CMI que se celebrará en Busan (Corea), en 2013. Desde la integración del Consejo Misionero Internacional (CMI) y del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI) en 1961, en Nueva Delhi, el Comité Central del CMI solo ha aprobado una declaración oficial de posición sobre misión y evangelización, en 1982: “Misión y evangelización: una afirmación ecuménica”. Esta nueva afirmación sobre la misión fue aprobada por unanimidad el 5 de septiembre de 2012 por el Comité Central del CMI, que se reunió en Creta (Grecia). El objetivo de este proceso de discernimiento ecuménico es buscar perspectivas, conceptos y orientaciones en aras de la renovación del entendimiento y la práctica de la misión y la evangelización en contextos en evolución. Se pretende lograr un amplio apoyo, más allá del círculo de las iglesias miembros del CMI y las organizaciones misioneras afiliadas, a fin de que podamos comprometernos juntos en favor de la plenitud de vida para todos, bajo la orientación del Dios de Vida.

Depuis l’Assemblée de Porto Alegre, en 2006, la Commission de Mission et d’évangélisation (CME) travaille et contribue à l’élaboration d'une nouvelle affirmation œcuménique sur la mission. La nouvelle déclaration sera présentée à la Dixième Assemblée du COE à Busan (Corée), en 2013. Depuis l’intégration entre le Conseil international des missions (CIM) et le Conseil œcuménique des Églises à l’Assemblée de la Nouvelle-Delhi, en 1961, le Comité central n’a approuvé qu’une seule déclaration officielle définissant la position du COE sur la mission et l’évangélisation, en 1982: La mission et l'évangélisation – Affirmation œcuménique. Cette nouvelle affirmation sur la mission a été approuvée à l'unanimité par le Comité central du COE le 5 septembre 2012 en Crète (Grèce). Ce nouvel effort de discernement œcuménique a pour objet de rechercher une vision, des concepts et des orientations pour un renouveau de la conception et de la pratique de la mission et de l’évangélisation dans des contextes en mutation. La présente Affirmation vise à être plus largement entendue, au-delà même du cercle des Églises membres du COE et des organismes missionnaires qui leur sont affiliés, afin que, ensemble, nous puissions nous mettre au service de la vie en plénitude pour tous, guidés par le Dieu de vie!
