Depuis le début de l'offensive militaire russe en Ukraine le 24 février, on estime que plus de 18 millions de personnes (41% de la population ukrainienne) ont été touchées par le conflit. Près d'un Ukrainien sur quatre a été contraint de quitter son domicile, avec près de 6,5 millions de personnes déplacées à l'intérieur du pays et plus de 3,5 millions de personnes ont fui le pays.

Groups representing 500 million Christians worldwide urge G20 leaders to release countries from onerous debt

In a letter to leaders of the Group of Twenty (G20) on 17 November, the World Council of Churches, World Communion of Reformed Churches, Lutheran World Federation and Council for World Mission urged easing of pressure on countries being suffocated by debt especially in a time of pandemic. The organizations represent more than 500 million Christians across the world.

WCC, WCRC, LWF, CWM letter to G20 finance ministers (July 2020)

The World Council of Churches (WCC), World Communion of Reformed Churches (WCRC), Lutheran World Federation (LWF) and Council for World Mission (CWM), have followed with profound concern how the COVID-19 pandemic and the related economic crisis have continued to destroy lives and livelihood around the world. To date this has resulted in more than half a million deaths, massive unemployment, increase of debts, poverty, and inequality in many parts of the world.
