The 7th Korea-US Church Consultation was held 24 June online, bringing together Korean and US church leaders to reflect on their mission journey, to share their respective challenges, and to explore joint action plans especially vis-a-vis the new US Administration.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) wrapped up its 65th central committee meeting in Geneva on 29 June, its first online session with many of proceedings carried out via video conference, and the moderator Dr Agnes Abuom declaring “we have agreed, basically, on the programme for 11th Assembly.”

Lors d’une réunion œcuménique des responsables d’églises d’Amérique du Nord le 24 juin, les prières et les discussions ont porté sur des questions à la fois profondément douloureuses et apparemment insurmontables : le racisme, la division, la réticence à se faire vacciner, le génocide et la guerre. Mais l’espoir a fait son chemin dans le rassemblement virtuel, les participants se soutenant mutuellement pour trouver des solutions.

Le Groupe de référence et le Groupe d’étude théologique du Pèlerinage de justice et de paix du Conseil œcuménique des Églises (COE), qui se sont réunis à la mi-juin, ont apporté des réflexions, des prières et des idées qui paveront la voie vers la 11e Assemblée du COE à Karlsruhe en 2022.

Jim Winkler, président et secrétaire général du Conseil national des Églises des États-Unis et le pasteur Peter Noteboom, secrétaire général du Conseil canadien des Églises, ont fait part de leurs réflexions sur leur récente réunion.

But hope found a way into the virtual gathering as participants supported each other to find ways forward.
