The World Council of Churches (WCC) Commission on World Mission and Evangelism (CWME) planning group met on 23-25 November, praying together and envisioning the future with a focus on the WCC Strategic Plan.

The latest issue of The Ecumenical Review, the quarterly journal of the World Council of Churches (WCC) is titled “A Living Fellowship of Churches” and marks the 75th anniversary of the WCC, which was founded in 1948 at its 1st Assembly in Amsterdam.

As its 12th General Assembly in Kanaky (New Caledonia) concluded, the Pacific Conference of Churches, in an outcome statement, expressed a vision for leading change through transformation.

Uniting Presbyterian Church in Southern Africa (UPCSA), the new president of All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC). 

The Churches’ Commission for Migrants in Europe, at its General Assembly held in Rome on 6-8 November, published a message entitled “Protect people, protect our humanity.”

A delegation from the Protestant Church in Switzerland visited the World Council of Churches (WCC) on 20 November. The delegation included Rev. Dr Martin Hirzel, director of External Relations; Damian Kessi, External Relations officer; Marion Wittine, assistant to the director of External Relations; and David Zaugg, senior officer for Public Affairs and Migration.

Rev. Dr Kenneth Mtata, World Council of Churches (WCC) programme director for Public Witness and Diakonia, offered a keynote speech at the Christian Aid assembly in London on 20 November.

World Council of Churches moderator Bishop Dr Heinrich Bedford-Strohm shared joyful greetings to the All Africa Conference of Churches as it celebrated its 60th birthday and gathered for its assembly.
