Students from 19 countries complete ecumenical studies in Bossey

At the graduation ceremony of the World Council of Churches (WCC) Ecumenical Institute at Bossey on 27 January, 27 students received certificates for their completed studies in ecumenism that prepared them to become future leaders and ambassadors of the ecumenical movement.

GETI 2022, the third global iteration of a Global Ecumenical Theological Institute, brought together some 100 young theologians from across the globe for six weeks of intense ecumenical sharing and learning – first online for four weeks and then for two weeks in person onsite – as the World Council of Churches (WCC) recently gathered for its 11th assembly in Karlsruhe, Germany.

Dear future steward

One hundred twenty-seven young people from over 50 countries in all eight regions served as stewards at the World  Council of Churches (WCC) 11th Assembly providing essential assistance in all activities and areas as well as contributing energy and perspective to  our life together as an ecumenical fellowship. Two of the stewards assisting the WCC Communication team share their experience as a letter and diary to future stewards at the 12th assembly.

ÖRK-Exekutivausschuss tagt nach zwei Jahren erstmals wieder persönlich

Der Exekutivausschuss des Ökumenischen Rates der Kirchen (ÖRK) wird vom 12. bis 17. November nach zwei Jahren erstmals wieder persönlich tagen und sich dabei schwerpunktmäßig mit den Vorbereitungen auf die 11. ÖRK-Vollversammlung 2022 in Karlsruhe, Deutschland, beschäftigen und 75 Jahre ökumenische Ausbildung am Ökumenischen Instituts in Bossey feiern.

Church of Sweden in Lund delegation visits the Ecumenical Centre and Bossey

Bishop Johan Tyrberg and a delegation from the Church of Sweden in Lund visited the World Council of Churches on 22-23 September, participating in a morning prayer for Christian unity, receiving a guided tour and discussing the theme of the World Council of Churches (WCC) 11th Assembly, “Christ’s love moves the world to reconciliation and unity.”
