WCC mourns loss of Dr William Stanley, who pursued economic justice

The World Council of Churches (WCC) is mourning the loss of Dr William Stanley, who passed away on 11 December. Stanley contributed to the WCCs work on economic and ecological justice especially during the period between the WCC 8th Assembly in Harare in 1998 and WCC 10th Assembly in Busan in 2013.

Walk the Talk: Asia-focus 4th International Faith-based Conference

Following up on several successful conferences, this Asia-focused online event aims to “walk the talk” on faith-driven investing, exploring issues and sharing experiences of successful and challenging investment projects, strengthening impactful cooperation between faith partners and investors, and presenting tools to make projects investable. The event is co-hosted event by the World Council of Churches,  Geneva Agape Foundation, FaithInvest, and the World Evangelical Alliance’s Business Coalition.

This week in the Ecumenical Prayer Cycle, we are praying with the people and churches of East Timor (Timor Leste), Indonesia, and Philippines.

This week marks World Toilet Day (19 November) which celebrates toilets and raises awareness of the 4.2 billion people living without access to safely managed sanitation. It is about taking action to tackle the global sanitation crisis and achieve Sustainable Development Goal 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030.

This week also marks World Children’s Day on 20 November.
