World Council of Churches Pastoral letter based on Pilgrim Team Visit to South Africa on Gender-Based Violence and Femicide and Xenophobia

In a letter addressed to the prime minister of Ethiopia Dr Abiy Ahmed, on 13 August, Rev. Dr Olav Fykse Tveit, general secretary of the World Council of Churches (WCC), conveyed heartfelt congratulations in the decisive role played by Ahmed to ensure the reconciliation of the two synods and unity of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church after 27 years of separation.

On 7 May 2018, Rev. Dr Olav Fykse Tveit, general secretary of the World Council of Churches, sent a letter of condolences to the family of Rev. Dr James Cone and his beloved community of faith and scholars, upon the passing of Rev. Cone on 28 April 2018.
