La pandémie de COVID-19 a mis en lumière de nombreuses inégalités au sein de l’humanité, mais elle a également ouvert des possibilités de communication accrue avec les membres du Conseil œcuménique des Églises et ses partenaires, de différentes manières, a expliqué la direction du COE à des journalistes.

Dans son discours d'ouverture de la réunion du Comité central du Conseil œcuménique des Églises le 23 juin, la modératrice du Comité central du COE, Mme Agnes Abuom, a donné un aperçu de la manière dont l'Église mondiale fait face à l'impact du COVID-19 :

In an opening address at the World Council of Churches central committee on 23 June, moderator Dr Agnes Abuom provided a glimpse of how the global church is coping with the impact of COVID-19.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) invites accredited media to the online opening press conference on 24 June at 12:00-12.45 CET, during which WCC central committee moderator Dr Agnes Abuom and WCC acting general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Ioan Sauca will provide an orientation of the work of the central committee.

Le Comité central du Conseil œcuménique des Églises (COE) se réunira par visioconférence du 23 au 29 juin afin de préparer la 11e Assemblée du COE qui aura lieu en 2022 à Karlsruhe, en Allemagne, et qui aura pour thème «L’amour du Christ mène le monde à la réconciliation et à l’unité». L’organe directeur du COE traitera également des affaires courantes et renforcera la communauté fraternelle du COE par le partage et la prière.  

The World Council of Churches (WCC) central committee will convene via video conference from 23-29 June to prepare for the 11th WCC Assembly, taking place in 2022 in Karlsruhe, Germany under the theme “Christ’s love moves the world to reconciliation and unity.” The WCC governing body will also address business matters and strengthen the WCC fellowship through sharing and prayer.

In a video message, moderator of the World Council of Churches (WCC) central committee Dr Agnes Abuom bid goodbye and expressed deep appreciation to Rev. Prof. Dr h.c. Cornelia Füllkrug-Weitzel, who is retiring as president of "Brot für die Welt" and "Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe" after leading the German charity for 20 years. Füllkrug-Weitzel is also a WCC Thursdays in Black ambassador.

Dans un message vidéo, Agnes Abuom, modératrice du Comité central du Conseil œcuménique des Églises (COE) a salué et remercié chaleureusement la pasteure Cornelia Füllkrug-Weitzel, qui a été présidente des organisations caritatives «Brot für die Welt» (Pain pour le monde) et «Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe» pendant 20 ans, et qui prend sa retraite. La pasteure Füllkrug-Weitzel est également ambassadrice des Jeudis en noir du COE.
