El Comité Central del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI) comenzó su reunión el 21 de junio con una oración común que recordó el 75º aniversario de la creación del CMI en 1948 y rememoró a las personas activas en el movimiento ecuménico que han fallecido en el último año.

Die Tagung des ÖRK-Zentralausschusses begann am 21. Juni mit einer Andacht, die an den 75. Jahrestag der Gründung des Ökumenischen Rates der Kirchen (ÖRK) im Jahr 1948 erinnerte und jener gedachte, die in der ökumenischen Bewegung aktiv gewesen und im vergangenen Jahr gestorben sind. 

Le Comité central du Conseil œcuménique des Églises (COE) s’est ouvert le 21 juin par une prière commune célébrant le 75e anniversaire de la fondation du COE en 1948 et commémorant toutes les personnes actives au sein du mouvement œcuménique qui se sont éteintes au cours de l’année écoulée.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) central committee opened on 21 June with common prayer that recalled the 75th anniversary of the founding of the WCC in 1948 and remembered those active in the ecumenical movement who have died over the past year.

As churches in the southern hemisphere closed the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity on 28 May, they brought final reflections to this year’s theme of “Do good; seek justice (Isaiah 1:17).”

“The audacity to love as Christ loves,” said the Rt. Rev. Joy Evelyn Abdul-Mohan, is “an imperative, not an option” for churches in today’s world. “When we have our agenda inclusive of all, for the benefit of all, then the cooperation and the commitment of all will be assured, and Christ’s audacious love will become more real to us.”
