The World Council of Churches (WCC) Commission for World Mission and Evangelism and Programme for Overcoming Racism, Xenophobia, and Related Discrimination hosted a meeting of young Black European Christians. 

As the World Council of Churches (WCC) celebrated its 75 anniversary, the voices of young people rang out with hope, joy—and some pointed messages for their ecumenical family.

The theme of African patriotism at the All Africa Youth Congress renewed the patriotic spirit of African youth. Through this theme, the African youth explored and reviewed the richness and beauty of culture in Africa, shared Magar Emmanuel Yayoune from Togo.

Over 100 people including students, alumni, instructors, and guests from academic and theological institutions in Germany, Switzerland, and France gathered together to hear reflections as part of the Global Ecumenical Theological Institute (GETI) program culmination on 7 September during the World Council of Churches 11th Assembly in Karlsruhe.

"God made me inquisitive by nature,” said Tavis Tinsley, 27, a graduate student from the United States and theologian from the United Methodist Church.

Karlsruhe, a city built over 300 hundred years ago without walls, open to friends and guests —at a time where other cities still hid behind their fortifications —welcomed people from all over the world to four pre-assemblies that are bringing forward powerful calls to the 11^th Assembly of the World Council of Churches (WCC).

It’s not easy to be a youth leader in the Holy Land. “Our youth have a need to recognize God’s calling in their lives,” explained Nadine Bitar, general secretary of Christian Youth in Palestine, a group that supports youth leaders in the homeland of Jesus.

Students from the Bossey Ecumenical Institute deepened their understanding of the ecumenical movement as they helped lead prayers during the World Council of Churches (WCC) central committee meeting, held via videoconference 9-15 February.

Carolina Zamorano, from the Methodist Church of Mexico, participated in a study visit to Rome 20-27 January, as part of pursuing a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Ecumenical Studies at Bossey Ecumenical Institute.

Bernard Mushi, from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania, participated in a study visit to Rome 20-27 January, as part of pursuing a Complementary Certificate in Ecumenical Studies at the Bossey Ecumenical Institute.

Gathered at the Ecumenical Institute Bossey on 27 January, a group of more than 30 Bossey students joined faculty members, partners and friends of Bossey in celebrating the experience of “a school of life,” as they earned their post-graduate Certificates in Ecumenical Studies.

At a “meet and greet” held in conjunction with an international symposium on digital justice, young people candidly shared what digital injustice means to them. Allowed to speak freely, their list began to reflect the grave consequences of digital injustice on the global young generation.
