Members of various Geneva churches gathered this week for the celebration of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity at Saint Paul’s church in the Orthodox Centre of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Chambésy.

During the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, staff of the Ecumenical Centre in Geneva joined a Monday morning prayer at the Chapelle des Crêts of the Protestant church of Geneva, reflecting on the theme of the 2025: “Do you believe this?”

The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity will take place from 18-25 January, and churches and Christian communities worldwide are invited to use the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2025 resources in seven languages, including a child-friendly version.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) Gender Justice Reference Group will convene in Harare, Zimbabwe from 7-12 December. The group, meeting face-to-face for the first time, was created to dismantle gender inequalities and promote justice and reconciliation.

An upcoming “Advocacy Training for Church Workers” will show religious leaders, lay leaders, educators, seminary students, and interested individuals how to effectively integrate advocacy into preaching, liturgy, and Bible studies.
