The Mar Thoma Syrian Church of Malabar and Old-Catholic Church in Switzerland convened at the Ecumenical Institute at Bossey on 3 October. The group also paid a visit to the new offices of the World Council of Churches (WCC) in Geneva.

On 4 October, the World Council of Churches (WCC) will join global faith leaders and youth in a prayer service to close the Season of Creation. Themed “To Hope and Act with Creation,” with a focus on the Fossil Fuel Phase-Out Initiative, this youth-led event calls on faith communities to unite in prayer and action to address the climate crisis.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) Ecumenical Diakonia Reference Group event began on 30 September in Yerevan, Armenia, focusing on transformative action to address some of the world’s most pressing issues. Opening the gathering, Rev. Dr Kenneth Mtata, WCC programme director for Public Witness and Diakonia, urged churches to tackle the systemic roots of global challenges, such as climate change, violent conflict, and inequality.

Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay will visit South Korea in September to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the National Council of Churches in Korea (NCCK) at a global conference on 20-22 September, then attend the assemblies of the Presbyterian Church of Korea Presbyterian Church in the Republic of Korea on 24-26 September.
