Yusef Daher, coordinator of the Jerusalem Liaison Office of the World Council of Churches in Jerusalem, earned the Menno Simons Sermon Award for 2025. 

Erik Svanberg and Maria Bäcklund, through the Christian Council of Sweden, have served as national coordinators with the World Council of Churches (WCC) Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel. They both are losing their jobs, as the programme has been paused because of changes by the Swedish government in funding priorities. Svanberg and Bäcklund reflected on the life-changing aspects of their work, and their wish that the programme will continue.

Hagop Djernazian, with other young Armenians from Jerusalem, has just returned from a global US tour that included the cities of New York, Boston, Detroit, Chicago, and Washington, DC. He took time to describe their 10 days of raising awareness to protect Armenian land in Jerusalem. 

Celia served with the World Council of Churches Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel from September-December 2024. She was stationed in East Jerusalem. Now that she has returned home to Denmark, she works in an agency under the Ministry of Immigration and Integration. She is also sharing her stories of what she witnessed as an ecumenical accompanier. 

Anton Goodman is director of Partnerships for Rabbis for Human Rights. He took time to reflect on how and why Rabbis for Human Rights values its partnership with the World Council of Churches (WCC) Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel; the challenges ahead; and ultimately the vision for a just and peaceful future.
