With a historic show of unity, Ethiopian churches meeting at the Ecumenical Institute at Bossey made the decision to establish a council of churches in their country.

World Council of Churches (WCC) general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay extended greetings to the 2nd Annual Synod Assembly of the Evangelical Christian Church in Halmahera.

Convening at the Ecumenical Institute at Bossey from 9-13 October, a steering group will craft a vision for a Faith and Order Nicaea 2025 World Conference. The conference, among other events, will mark the 1,700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea in 2025.
