Iraqi church representatives statement

In a meeting organized by the World Council of Churches in Dar Sayedat Al Jabal, Fatka, Lebanon, between 10 and 11 February 2009, twelve church leaders from all over Iraq discussed the current situation of its Christians community. Representatives from different Iraqi churches participated in the meeting together with bishops from the Syrian and Armenian Orthodox Churches and the Chaldean Church in Lebanon, and the General Secretary of the Middle East Council of Churches.

WCC US Conference letter to President Obama was prepared during the US Conference conference Annual Meeting by a panel of church leaders including Rev. Dr. Jeffery W. Carter, Rev. Dr. Gradye Parsons, Rev. Michael Livingston, Dr. Elizabeth Ferris, Rev. Dr. John H. Thomas, Rev. Dr. Sharon Watkins, Rev. Dr. Michael Kinnamon. AACC prayer call for Zimbabwe

The 9th General Assembly held in Maputo, Mozambique in December 2008 gave the African churches a strong mandate to continue their longstanding accompaniment of the Church and people of Zimbabwe. The Assembly declared January 25th an African Day of prayer for Zimbabwe. The call is to join our Zimbabwean sisters and brothers in prayer and in fasting, in words and in deeds, in contemplation and in action.
