WCC invites webinar on ’Racism, Land and Food’

The World Council of Churches (WCC) invites a webinar on ’Racism, Land and Food’ to explore the intersections of food, land, and racial injustices, and discern ways to overcome the impact of racial injustice and inequity on food sovereignty.

El “Dies Academicus” es un encuentro anual especial que tiene lugar en el Instituto Ecuménico de Bossey del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI). La edición de este año académico tuvo lugar el pasado 4 de noviembre. El actual grupo de 33 estudiantes de 20 países distintos participó en un debate con presentaciones de cuatro ponentes que compartieron sus reflexiones sobre el tema “¿Es el racismo una cuestión religiosa?” El debate reafirmó la declaración de la 4ª Asamblea del CMI celebrada en Upsala de que el racismo es un pecado.

Bossey students reflect on the question: “Is racism a faith question?”

 

Dies Academicus,” is a special annual gathering at the World Council of Churches (WCC) Bossey Ecumenical institute. This academic years installment took place on 4 November. The current cohort of  33 students from 20 countries listened to a panel of four speakers who shared reflections  on the theme, Is racism a faith question?” The panel reaffirmed the WCC 4th Assembly held in Uppsala, which declared racism as sin.

Youth in Africa strive to build a peaceful, thriving continent

"If youth in Africa are united and reconcile with our past, we will be able to confront the stumbling blocks of the continent. If we are patriotic, if we have a passion for Africa, we can transform the continent to be a home and a future for all," said Collins Shava, youth executive secretary for the All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC), as he reflected on the Africa: My Home. My Future. campaign being undertaken by AACC to inspire young people to be patriotic to their countries and Africa at large by utilizing their talents towards building a thriving continent.

Los jóvenes se preparan para su futuro papel como stewards de la 11ª Asamblea del CMI

Una selección variada de veintiséis jóvenes designados como stewards para el Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI) se reunieron en línea del 14 al 16 de junio de 2021 para participar en una orientación sobre la mayordomía y la formación ecuménica diseñada para generar conocimientos, desarrollar el liderazgo y fortalecer la solidaridad mundial, además de una orientación sobre su participación en las próximas reuniones importantes del CMI.

Youth gearing for future role as stewards at the 11th WCC Assembly

A diverse selection of 26 young people designated as stewards for the World Council of Churches (WCC) gathered online from 14-16 June 2021 to take part in an orientation of stewardship and ecumenical formation, designed to build awareness, develop leadership, and strengthen global solidarity, as well as an orientation on their participation in upcoming major WCC meetings.
