The 37th Word Student Christian Federation  (WSCF) General Assembly officially kicked off  in Berlin with the theme, "Rejoice in Hope" (Romans 12:12), and a sub-theme of "Young People, Journeying Together Toward Justice and Peace.” Over 100 movements from 94 countries will attend this year’s assembly along with senior friends, partners, and guests from 24 -30 June.

World Council of Churches (WCC) acting general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Ioan Sauca shared greetings with the 37th Session of the World Student Christian Federation General Assembly, which will be held in Berlin from 23 June to 1 July.

La publicación conjunta del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI) y ACT Alianza, que ofrece recursos para reforzar la capacidad diaconal de las iglesias e intensificar la cooperación con sus asociados ecuménicos, será presentada en línea el 9 de junio a las 15.00 horas (CET).

A newly released volume, “Transformative Spiritualities for the Pilgrimage of Justice and Peace,” provides a selection of reflections from indigenous perspectives to women’s voices, from black communities ́ to campesino/as ́ struggles, from specific Christian traditions to sister faiths.

The joint publication of the World Council of Churches (WCC) and ACT Alliance, offering resources to strengthen the diaconal capacity of the churches and to advance cooperation with their ecumenical partners, will be presented online on 9 June at 15.00 CET.

As the World Council of Churches (WCC) fellowship prepares for the WCC 11th Assembly to be held in Karlsruhe, they also expressed their wish to prepare for the spiritual life and experience of the assembly.

World Council of Churches (WCC) specialized ministries and roundtable partners are gathering on 3-4 May at the Bossey Ecumenical Institute for a “Working Together” meeting filled with a spirit of interconnected learning and preparation for the WCC 11th Assembly.

El pasado 1 de abril, al dar comienzo el evento híbrido de presentación del libro “Let the waves roar” (“Que rujan las olas”) con objeto de dar a conocer de manera más profunda esta publicación de la juventud, el secretario general en funciones del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI), Rev. Prof. Dr. Ioan Sauca, dio la bienvenida a todas las personas que participaron diciendo: “Estoy muy agradecido de contar con esta nueva publicación que incluye las perspectivas de jóvenes voces proféticas en el movimiento ecuménico, especialmente en estos momentos en los que se aproxima la celebración de la 11ª Asamblea”.

As the hybrid book event on a deeper dive in the youth publication “Let the waves roar” commenced on 1 April, World Council of Churches (WCC) acting general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Ioan Sauca welcomed everyone, saying: “I am so grateful to have the new publication with perspectives of young prophetic voices in the ecumenical movement, especially as we move toward the 11th assembly.”

El Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI) ha invitado a un grupo intergeneracional para que explore, analice con espíritu crítico y proponga caminos a seguir participando en un evento híbrido cuyo objetivo es bucear más profundo en las distintas voces de jóvenes que recoge la publicación Let the waves roar. 

La nueva publicación del CMI, “Coexistence: Peace, Nature, Poverty, Terrorism, Values (Religious Perspectives)” (Coexistencia: paz, naturaleza, pobreza, terrorismo, valores [perspectivas religiosas]), del arzobispo Anastasios de Tirana, Durrës y toda Albania, está ahora disponible en versión impresa y como libro electrónico.

A new publication from WCC, “Coexistence: Peace, Nature, Poverty, Terrorism, Values (Religious Perspectives)” by Anastasios, Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës, and All Albania, is now available in hard copy and as an eBook.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) is inviting an intergenerational group to explore, critically analyze, and propose ways forward at a hybrid event of a deeper dive into the different voices represented in the youth publication “Let the waves roar.” 

El Encuentro Ecuménico de la Juventud que tendrá lugar del 27 al 30 de agosto reunirá a un círculo de jóvenes agentes de cambio para el presente y el futuro del movimiento ecuménico pocos días antes de la 11ª Asamblea del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI) en Karlsruhe (Alemania). 

Este encuentro dividirá sus actividades en tres grandes líneas: una especialmente dedicada a las delegaciones de la juventud en la 11ª Asamblea del CMI; otra dedicada a los stewards, y otra, a los representantes de las iglesias miembros del CMI y los asociados ecuménicos.

An Ecumenical Youth Gathering on 27-30 August will convene a circle of young agents of change for the ecumenical movement’s present and future just days before the World Council of Churches (WCC) 11th Assembly in Karlsruhe, Germany. 

The Ecumenical Youth Gathering will comprise three tracks: one especially for young delegates to the WCC 11th Assembly, one for stewards, and one for representatives of WCC member churches and ecumenical partners.

 

A team of young communicators began a comprehensive training programme on 1 March to help them prepare for their roles in telling the stories and carrying the messages from the World Council of Churches (WCC) 11th Assembly.

For each assembly, the central committee submits an accountability report, describing and offering an assessment of the activities of the WCC between the assemblies; in this case, since the 10th Assembly, in Busan, Republic of Korea, in late 2013.
