El papa emérito Benedicto XVI deja un legado de diálogo ecuménico

Como expresión de la profunda tristeza del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI) tras el anuncio hecho hoy por la Santa Sede del fallecimiento de su santidad, el papa emérito Benedicto XVI, el secretario general en funciones del CMI, Rev. Prof. Dr. Ioan Sauca, declaró:

“En nombre del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias, expreso nuestro más sentido pésame por el fallecimiento del papa emérito Benedicto XVI. Fue el primer papa procedente de un país, Alemania, con un equilibrio más o menos equitativo entre protestantes y católicos, y que estuvo en el centro mismo de la Reforma del siglo XVI”.

Expressing the profound sadness of the World Council of Churches (WCC) following the announcement by the Holy See of the death of His Holiness Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI today, the WCC acting general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Ioan Sauca stated:

On behalf of the World Council of Churches, I express our deepest condolences on the passing of late Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. He was the first pope to have come from a country, Germany, with a roughly equal balance between Protestants and Catholics, and one that had been at the very centre of the 16th century Reformation.”

International conference explores neglected topics of Nicaea and its creed

An international conference entitled WE BELIEVE: The Status Quaestionis and the Neglected Topics of Nicaea and its Creed” was held in Istanbul on 1-2 December.
