A Go for Gender Justice” initiative was launched by the Protestant Church in Germany in Berlin on 1 February with calls for overcoming gender clichés and traditional role models. Germanys "First Lady,” the judge Elke Büdenbender called on women and men to fight together for social change. Under the motto "Go for Gender Justice,” nine regional churches invited people to move together toward gender equality.

La Asociación Mundial de Comunicación Cristiana (WACC por su sigla en inglés) tuvo un papel destacado en el Foro Mundial de Medios de Comunicación de Deutsche Welle (DW) celebrado en Bonn, Alemania, los días 27 y 28 de mayo.
En la conferencia participaron más de 2.000 profesionales de medios de comunicación, formuladores de políticas, agentes de políticas y la sociedad civil, la cultura y la educación, el mundo empresarial y la ciencia, representantes de 140 países.

Christian communicators shine at Global Media Forum

The World Association for Christian Communication (WACC) was featured in the DW Global Media Forum held 27-28 May in Bonn, Germany. More than 2,000 media professionals, policymakers, and movers from politics and civil society, culture and education, business and science – representing 140 countries – attended the conference.

#WCC70: Comunidad de mujeres y hombres: con altibajos

He vivido muchas buenas historias con el CMI, pero lamentablemente también algunas desalentadoras, dice la Rev. Dra. Margot Käßmann, teóloga luterana y expresidenta del Consejo de la Iglesia Evangélica en Alemania. Käßmann fue miembro de los Comités Central y Ejecutivo del CMI durante muchos años, hasta su renuncia en 2002. La historia que contribuye con motivo de la conmemoración del 70º aniversario del CMI rememora la Asamblea del CMI celebrada en 1998 en Harare, que marcó el final del Decenio Ecuménico de Solidaridad de las Iglesias con las Mujeres.

#WCC70: Fellowship of women and men – with ups and downs

I have experienced many good stories with the WCC, but unfortunately disappointing ones as well, says Rev. Dr Margot Käßmann, Lutheran theologian and former chairperson of the Council of the Evangelical Church in Germany. She was a member of the WCC Central and Executive Committees for many years, until her resignation in 2002. The story she contributed for the WCC 70th anniversary commemoration looks back to the 1998 WCC Assembly in Harare, which marked the end of the Ecumenical Decade of Churches in Solidarity with Women.
