How do we follow Jesus today?

Who in the context of today’s world is not aware of the need for transformation? Whether our analysis is political, economic, ecological or personal, we know that what is needed is not any gentle amelioration but rather something that is a game-changer. Might it be time to hear again Jesus’ call to discipleship: “Come, follow me”?

Such a rediscovery of discipleship lay at the heart of the World Council of Churches Conference on World Mission and Evangelism, held at Arusha, Tanzania, in March 2018. The Conference issued the Arusha Call to Discipleship, a seminal and fascinating text for understanding the meaning of mission in today’s world.
