Creator God, You open each morning with the radiant sun and adorn the night sky with the moon and the stars. God of Life, who embraces and cares for all creation, we praise your holy name with all our hearts and minds. We come before you as your people, seeking first your kingdom and your righteousness.

God, who sustains all creation in wisdom and order, and who leads us in the way of justice and peace, we give you thanks for creating us in your image and calling us to be your children. Yet, O God, do not turn away from this world that you created good and beautiful, now groaning under the weight of war and violence, greed and hatred.

We pray especially for the Korean Peninsula, which continues to bear the wounds of eighty-one years of division. Divided through the violence of imperialism, this land has long been marked by distrust and hostility. Bring an end to war and lead us toward a peace agreement. Grant that both sides may respect each other’s official names and political systems, put an end to hostility, and walk together on the path of peaceful coexistence. Renew the Korean Peninsula with the grace of reconciliation and just peace, and let the peace of this land become a witness of hope for Asia and for the whole world.

As we pray for peace on the Korean Peninsula, keep us from turning away from the suffering of the world. In Palestine, killing and massacre continue even today. In Ukraine, the ongoing war continues to destroy people’s lives. In Myanmar and in many countries across Africa, coups, violence, and oppression trample upon human dignity. We also remember all those who suffer not only because of war, but also because of the violence of greed, unjust economic systems, discrimination, and hatred. Make us a church that shares their pain and stands in solidarity with them.

God, we believe in you, who promise hope instead of despair and peace instead of violence. As our risen Lord Jesus Christ said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you,” renew us by your Holy Spirit, that we may overcome fear and move forward in the way of justice and reconciliation.

As your children, keep us united in solidarity and steadfast in our journey for peace. Make us neighbors to the poor and the vulnerable, to those who are unjustly imprisoned, and to those who suffer discrimination as minorities. Wherever we are, may we practice justice, cultivate peace, and bear witness to your love.

Give us courage to proclaim your justice against all powers that stir up war and violence through greed. Through our lives, may your justice and peace be revealed in this world. Lord, you who break down the dividing walls and reconcile those who have become enemies, lead us on the path of just peace.

We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace.

Amen.
