The report by the High-Level Panel on the Post-2015 Development Agenda recognized the importance of ensuring both protection against and the elimination of all forms of violence against children. As stressed by the High Level Panel, “to fulfil our vision of promoting sustainable development, we must go beyond the MDGs; they did not focus enough on reaching the very poorest and most excluded people; and they were silent on the devastating effects of (...) violence on development."
This report is the outcome of a strong partnership promoted between the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General on Violence against Children (SRSG VAC) and child-focused agencies following a meeting held in Sweden in November 2013 organized by Plan International, Save the Children, SOS Children’s Villages, Children’s Fund, UNICEF and CONCORD. This report has been jointly developed by Plan International and Save the Children, in close cooperation with the SRSG VAC.
