Programme Committee - Annotated Agenda


Introduction

The Programme Committee's main responsibility will be to deal with the following issues:

1. Receive and comment on the Activities Report.
2. Receive and comment on the reports from the commissions and advisory bodies.
3. Prepare for the Pre-Assembly Evaluation.
4. Review and propose recommendations for the Programme Plans 2003-2005.

Opening Actions

  • Welcome
    - Sharing from different contexts and regions
    - Presentation of the agenda and the working methodology- Rapporteurs, Steering Group
  • Introduction to the new internal organization, including the relationships with ACT, EAA and ENI

Activities Report, July 2002 - June 2003

A written report will be sent in advance, including a description of the main activities per programme, highlighting successes and obstacles, and some questions and issues requiring attention, input and advice from the Programme Committee members.

  • Oral presentation of the report
  • Group discussions (round tables), each focussing on specific programme areas
  • Plenary: reports from the round tables, comments and recommendations

Consultative Bodies

  • Written summary reports should be sent in advance from the consultative bodies who will have met prior to the Central Committee Meeting (CWME, Faith and Order, EEF Core Group, CCIA Core Group, Communication Advisory Group, Bossey Board).

- A proposal to create two new Commissions will be sent in advance.

  • Brief oral introduction of the reports by the moderators of the consultative bodies, and presentation of the new proposal for Commissions
  • Group discussions (round tables)
  • Plenary: reports from the round tables - comments and recommendations

    The "Blue Book" will be sent in advance with an introduction highlighting the following:

    • differences between the past year and this year;
    • process of priority setting.
    • Oral presentation of:
    • The Blue Book in the light of the upcoming assembly and of the programme evaluation
    • New ways of working (highlighting risks and opportunities):
      • Decentralisation
      • Ecumenical initiatives: EAPPI, EHAIA
      • Communication
    • Group discussions (round tables)

    Programme planning and finance: Discussion with the Officers of the Finance Committee

    18:15 - 19:15

    Programme planning 2003 – 2005 (final): Round tables and plenary discussions, taking into account new inputs from the Finance Committee and the Policy Reference Committees I and II.
