The "Theological Communique" summares discussions and reflections from the NIFEA Consultation on Land as Commons, not Commodity, held from August 28 to 30, 2024, in Limuru, Kenya. The participants, including theologians, activists, and church workers from various global regions, focused on the vision of land as a shared common good rather than a commodity. They examined how unjust economic systems, rooted in colonialism and capitalism, have degraded land and displaced communities.

The communique calls for a shift in theological and economic frameworks to recognize land's inherent dignity, proposing advocacy for land justice, redistribution, and ecological protection, especially for Indigenous and marginalized communities. Key themes include decolonization, the rights of land, climate justice, and the role of faith communities in promoting alternative economic visions.
