Speech by Peter Prove, director of the WCC Commission of the Churches on International Affairs at the IJCIC-WCC meeting "The normalization of hatred: Challenges for Jews and Christians today", 25-27 June 2019, Paris.

Following the publication of this address in the December 2019 issue of Current Dialogue, the WCC journal on interreligious relations, a response was received from Rabbi David Fox Sandmel, Senior Advisor on Interreligious Affairs, Anti-Defamation League. Rabbi Sandmel has long experience of dialogue and cooperation with the WCC, both as a member of the Reference Group of the WCC’s Pilgrimage of Justice and Peace, and as vice-chair of the International Jewish Committee on Interreligious Consultations (IJCIC), the primary Jewish dialogue partner of the WCC. The editorial team of Current Dialogue agreed to publish his response here as part of a dialogical exchange, within which it is envisaged that a further response by Peter Prove will be posted in due course.
