In a welcome to Karlsruhe, which features scenes from the southwestern German city, the video invites people to the assembly, portraying it as a global event for celebration and exchange.
The assembly will be held 31 August-8 September 2022.
Oberkirchenrat Dr Marc Witzenbacher, who serves as local assembly coordinator for the WCC in the period leading up to the assembly, said that images from the city combined with insight into the international community of the WCC in the video are very helpful toward understanding the uniqueness the assembly will bring.
"We are happy to inspire people here in Karlsruhe and Germany, but also in France and Switzerland and in the whole region that the world is coming together at the 11th WCC Assembly, that this is not just a church meeting, but an open and encouraging celebration, a sign of the future for our world,” said Witzenbacher.
