They received a welcome and introduction to the WCC and the Ecumenical Institute at Bossey, as well as information on programmes related to ecumenical relations.
“We wanted to see how the World Council of Churches works,” said Maté Gal, student.
Student Panna Vatai said: “We are also looking for potential universities where we can study abroad.”
Gal said that one of the most interesting parts of the visit was hearing about youth getting involved in the WCC. “I am pretty interested in getting involved in this kind of work in the future, so it was really great to hear that they want to have more youth in the WCC,” said Gal.
Vatai said it was a pleasure to see the WCC. “In my personal life, I have Catholic friends, evangelical friends, and it is very nice to have conversations with them about God and His wonderful things,” said Vatai. "It is nice to see that it works in the WCC as well.”
The WCC Visitors Programme receives 800-1,000 visitors annually from all over the world. In the last few weeks, in addition to local and regional visitors, the WCC has hosted groups from the UK, US, and South Korea.
