Visitors included delegations from the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Greenland as well as from the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue.
Quaker representatives visited, participating in the WCC staff morning prayer, and then joining discussions of planning for the WCC 12th Assembly in 2030, as well as joining discussions of international affairs.
Tim Gee, general secretary of the Friends World Committee for Consultation, expressed appreciation for the visit. The prayer, he said, “felt deep and gathered, and it was a true delight to share both this and the meetings that followed.”
Erik Lysen, director of ACT Church of Sweden, met with WCC general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay as well as a delegation from the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Greenland.
Jakob Sundmark and Rev. Lisa Fröberg, both senior advisers for the ACT Church of Sweden, visited for an orientation to the WCC, also joining a lunch with a delegation from the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Greenland.
Sundmark and Fröberg also discussed the WCC Life, Justice, and Peace programme; Just Community of Women and Men; fundraising, planning, and reporting; and ecumenical relations.
The WCC also hosted the following visitors: Rev Serge Fornerod, president of the Foundation for Reformed Churches; Hermann Gröhe, former federal minister and president of the German Red Cross, with his team; Rev. Dr Fidéle Fifamé Houssou Gandonou, director of the Biblical Alliance in Benin, accompanied by Rev. Tunde Lamboley, pastor in Esatavayer le Lac (Canton de Fribourg); and Rev. Vicki Aitken and family, from the Uniting Church in Australia.
