The screening will take place on 4 October at 17:30-19:00 in the Ecumenical Centre, Main Hall. A discussion, moderated by Carla Khijoyan, World Council of Churches programme executive for the Middle East, will follow the movie.
The film, produced by the Balasan Initiative for Human Rights-Palestine, brings strong messages on the importance of Al Makhrour in the history, heritage, biodiversity, and future development for Palestinians. The movie also highlights the current dangers as a result of Israeli confiscation policies.
Dalia Qumsieh, lawyer and founder of the Balasan Initiative for Human Rights-Palestine, a Palestinian Christian legal advocacy group, will also speak at the screening.
Currently, the World Council of Churches is also hosting the exhibit “Bethlehem Reborn – Palestine – The Wonders of the Nativity,” on the renovation and restoration of the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. The exhibit is open Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 17:00.
The Church of the Nativity is one of the oldest churches in the world, dating back to 313 AD. In 2013, it underwent renovation to restore it to its former state.
A reception will follow. Please respond to [email protected] by 2 October at 10:00 CEST
