The Presbyterian Church of Korea is not only a founding member of the World Council of

Churches but a longstanding partner with us in fulfilling Gods mission in the world,” he said. This can be seen in your work with the WCC, particularly in the areas of peace, youth, climate justice, and human rights. We are thankful for the work you do here in the Korean context and beyond as a church that contributes immensely to the ecumenical movement.

More importantly, for more than 75 years, you have also been our constant partner and ally in taming the conflict and kindling the peace in Korea,” Pillay said.

The Presbyterian Church of Korea is the largest WCC member church in South Korea.

In these days, through worship and fellowship, discussion and deliberation, you will build up the church in the power of the Spirit,” Pillay said. You will deepen your intimacy with God, your journey with Jesus, and your life together in the Spirit.”

Pillay pledged that the WCC will walk with the Presbyterian Church of Korea on that journey.

We pray God’s blessings and wisdom upon you in your deliberations and decisions at this assembly,” Pillay concluded.
