“The Lutheran World Federation is a strong partner in the one ecumenical movement and we are thankful for your witness as a communion of churches on a common journey of renewal,” reads the greeting. “As a fellowship of churches, acting together, we trust that God can bring through us reconciliation and healing in our disrupted world.”
Sauca reflected that we are grateful for everything God provides – even in this long period of pandemic. “In the midst of enormous suffering, isolation, despair, instability, and loneliness we are encouraged through love, care, compassion, hope, and faith,” he writes. “We are called to work together and support each other in God’s mission as our common task.”
As Christians we are bound together by the love of Christ, Sauca continues. “Your witness as a communion is an expression of the transforming love of Christ,” he writes. “Through your service to the world you inspire communities around the world not only to respond to urgent needs, but to work and pray for healing, reconciliation and life with dignity for all.”
