The conference will mark the 1700th anniversary of the worlds first Ecumenical Council, the Council of Nicaea which was held in the year 325 to constitute a fundamental and pivotal station in the history of the Christian faith and the ecumenical path.

A joint coordination session was held 19 August between the communication and media teams of the WCC and the Middle East Council of Churches.

During the meeting, participants discussed plans related to media coverage of the conference, in addition to ways of coordinating and cooperating together in order to highlight this celebratory event. The attendees also exchanged insights on media and logistics with the aim of developing a clear action plan and media strategy.

The Papal Logos Center was established by His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of Mark, to form a center for dialogue, communication, culture, and education. The Twelfth General Assembly of the Middle East Council of Churches was held under the hospitality of His Holiness in May 2022, under the title "Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.”

The Sixth World Conference on Faith and Order will be one of many activities during the year 2025, which the WCC is commemorating as an Ecumenical Year on the Pilgrimage of Justice, Reconciliation, and Unity.
