World Council of Churches (WCC) general secretary Rev. Dr Olav Fykse Tveit sent a greeting to the Synod of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) reflecting on the main theme of this year’s synod, The Faith of Young People.”

Tveit connected the faith of young people to living water the will quench their thirst and give them hope and a vision not only for their own lives, but for the fullness of life for all.

“Above all, we have to give opportunities to young people with scholarships to gain a broad horizon and to see themselves as part of the ecumenical fellowship of the churches and of one humanity,” Tveit wrote.

The WCC will hold its next assembly, in 2021, in Karlsruhe, Germany.
