This years month of Ramadan has coincided with a period of profound trial for humanity, giving rise to deep concern over the painful and immeasurable consequences of ongoing wars and violence affecting human lives, global stability, and the whole of creation,” wrote Pillay. Amidst this challenging international context, the spiritual message of Ramadan continues to highlight with particular clarity and strength the timeless values of faith, community, and solidarity, values that form an essential foundation for the peaceful coexistence of peoples and nations.”

Pillay reaffirmed the WCCs commitment to the values of peace, justice, forgiveness, and generosity toward others.

May this blessed feast be a source of joy, hope, and spiritual renewal for all, and may it strengthen our shared commitment to building a world marked by peace, cooperation, and reconciliation,” concluded Pillay.
