“In 2025, under the aegis of the Pilgrimage of Justice, Reconciliation, and Unity, the council experienced a year steeped in history and tradition, as the WCC celebrated a host of anniversaries,” writes WCC general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay in the foreword. “The array of activities and initiatives highlighted in this annual review testifies, of course, to the great and pressing needs of today’s world.”
The annual review portrays the deep well of faith that inspires Christians around the world to join hearts and hands with to heal the world.
“So as we continue our journey in 2026, we know that God still reigns, justice will prevail, and peace will come on earth,” writes Pillay. “Therefore, we look forward confidently: firm in our
faith, secure in the aptness and effectiveness of our witness, and—grounded in God’s love as revealed in Christ Jesus—boundless in hope.”
