“Thursdays in Black is a campaign run by the World Council of Churches and the wider ecumenical movement to recognize that gender-based violence still exists, and that faith communities can do something about it,” he says. “Anyone can put on a shirt, T-shirt, or dress on Thursday to demonstrate their awareness of this situation, but also to say that they stand against violence.”
