World Council of Churches (WCC) general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay will deliver a peace message during this service.
The service will be live-streamed.
In the lead-up to the service, the 2025 Prayer for the Peaceful Reunification of the Korean Peninsula is now available globally.
The annual prayer is shared with the hope that it will be widely used by ecumenical partners and WCC member churches around the world in their prayers for peace and reconciliation on the Korean Peninsula ahead of the 40th anniversary of the Glion meeting in 1986, where the first-ever inter-Korean Eucharist was held with the accompaniment of the WCC.
“Breaking through the silence of a long night, we begin to hear faint signs of peace rising from afar,” the prayer reads. “And quietly, our hearts begin to beat again with hope.”
