The World Council of Churches (WCC) and the Focolare movement founded by Chiara Lubich will hold a round table discussion addressing the theme of “Peace and justice, fruits of unity” on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Lubich’s last visit to Geneva and five years after her passing away.

The discussion is open to all within the local and international community in Geneva and environs, including media and diplomatic, NGO and government staff. Simultaneous English and French interpretation will be available.

The round table will also provide an opportunity for reflections on theme of the WCC’s upcoming 10th Assembly “God of life, lead us to justice and peace”. The WCC assembly will take place in Busan, Republic of Korea, from 30 October to 8 November 2013.

The speakers will include Dr Michel Vandeleene, theologian, and editor of Chiara Lubich's writings, presenting on "Chiara Lubich: May they all be one"; Ms Maria Francisca Ize-Charrin, former director at the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights; Ms Ada Marra, member of the Swiss Parliament and Rev. Dr Olav Fykse Tveit, WCC general secretary who is scheduled to address the event.

The round table will be held at the Ecumenical Centre in Grand Saconnex on Thursday, 25 April from 17-18:30hrs. The Ecumenical Centre, which is home to the WCC, is located at 150 Route de Ferney. Free parking is available.
