The programme, themed "Equipping Future Clergy for Climate Justice and Creation Care," brought together theological students to reflect on the church's responsibility towards justice, peace, human dignity, and the integrity of creation.

“As part of this initiative, I had the privilege of presenting the vision and significance of the Thursdays in Black campaign, encouraging participants to stand in solidarity against all forms of violence, particularly sexual and gender-based violence,” said Martin. “By wearing black on Thursdays, participants publicly express their resolve to build communities free from violence, discrimination, and abuse while affirming the God-given dignity of every person.”

The students warmly received the campaign and appreciated its relevance within theological education and pastoral ministry. “It is my hope that these future church leaders will carry forward the values of the campaign within their churches, communities, and ministries, inspiring more young people across India to become advocates for justice, peace, and human dignity,” said Martin. “I am grateful for the opportunity to promote this meaningful global ecumenical movement and remain committed to educating and empowering youth and theological students on the values of Thursdays in Black alongside climate justice and creation care.”
