The World Council of Churches invites students to Ecumenical studies in Bossey through an updated version of the institute's Academic Study Programme.

The Ecumenical Institute at Château de Bossey offers a range of programmes and courses in Ecumenical Studies, Interreligious Studies, and Theology, all accredited by the University of Geneva.

"The Ecumenical Institute is a unique place for ecumenical education and formation. The content of the teaching focuses on the challenges for the churches in the 21st century and the responses the modern ecumenical movement offers," reflects the institute’s academic dean Rev. Dr Fr Lawrence Iwuamadi
in the foreword to the study programme.

For more than 70 years, the Ecumenical Institute has been fulfilling its mission of ecumenical theological formation and education.

"At the heart of the students' life at Bossey is regular common prayer in the main chapel, where students discover their differences in faith and find ways to stand together in the presence of God," says Rev. Dr Fr Ioan Sauca, director of the institute.

"Service learning is another element which strengthens community life in Bossey. Care of creation and different types of community service raise sensitivity for the needs of others," Sauca adds.

With its holistic way of education - combining academic research, cross-cultural learning through life in community, spiritual experience, exposure to and encounter with other faith communities, Bossey holds a special place and vocation in ecumenical formation today.

"Bossey is a place to experience," states Iwuamadi.
