Leaders of Focolare Movement in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland visit WCC

They received a welcome and introduction to the WCC, then attended an Ash Wednesday service with WCC staff and other ecumenical partners at the St Hippolyte Roman Catholic Church in Geneva. 

Schmitt and Rossi expressed appreciation for the welcome. 

“The presentation of the various activities deeply touched and encouraged us, confirming that the WCC has a valuable and irreplaceable role in promoting unity among churches and supporting peace in the world from within,” they wrote. “As the Focolare Movement, we stand with you in this common concrete commitment, wherever possible, and we ask God in prayer to support and bless our efforts.”

The delegation was accompanied by Christian Müggler, Focolare representative to the WCC.
