Led by Aurélie Ethuin Lanoy, the prayer service focused on the theme of caring for Gods creation as a major responsibility of humankind.

Preaching on the text of John 4: 4-15 (-29), Pastor Jean Lanoy, from the Christian Catholic Church of Geneva, reflected that to have a spirit that lives in truth is to be a spirit that has chose the clarity of speech to guide his life and understand the sense of creation, fit into God's plans without exploitation nor deviation from his masterpiece which is the living: land, sea, air, unlimited space,” he said.

The prayer service was also joined by several staff members of the ecumenical organizations based in the building.

Founded in 1954, Rassemblement des Eglises Chrétiennes de Genève currently has 28 member churches and communities from the Geneva area.

Season of Creation is a time to renew our relationship with creation through celebration, conversion, and commitment together. During the Season of Creation, communities and individuals worldwide join the ecumenical family in prayer and action for our common home.

The World Council of Churches has been instrumental in making this special time a season, extending the celebration from 1 September until 4 October.
