Face(s) of the Participants Photo Art Project creates unified “face” of the assembly

WCC Communication is welcoming artist Wolf Nkole Helzle who will create onsite a “Face(s) of the Assembly Participants” photo art project, through which he will craft a visual representation of the depth and breadth of the ecumenical family.

1 September 2022, Karlsruhe, Germany: photographic artist Wolf Helzle running a Foto Art project at the 11th assembly of the World Council of Churches and taking portraits of participants and merging the images together to make a single image.

The finished work of photo art will present each face as both an individual and part of a unified global fellowship. In other words, a visual representation of unity though diversity!

During his career, Helzle has collected well over 50,000 portraits, in four continents and more than 30 countries.

“Out of the many, the one face arises,” said Helzle in describing his work.
