The visit, accompanied by Bosseys academic dean, Fr Prof. Dr Lawrence Iwuamadi, offered students a unique opportunity to experience the ecumenical life, prayer, and communal spirituality that define Taizé.

The group arrived in Taizé on 10 October for an evening welcome by Taizé brothers, followed by shared meals and evening prayers around the cross.

The programme on 11 October immersed students in the rhythm of the Taizé community, beginning with morning prayer and Bible introduction sessions, followed by group reflections and discussions on theology and the communitys history. The day concluded with a candlelit evening prayer celebrating the light of the resurrection.

On 12 October, students joined the Taizé brothers for Eucharist and met with Brother Matthew, prior of Taizé, who shared insights on the communitys mission and its relationship with Bossey and the WCC.

Reflecting on the visit, Iwuamadi emphasized the spiritual and educational value of such encounters, which deepen understanding of ecumenical dialogue and Christian unity.

Brother Matthew encouraged the students to make the best of the opportunity that Bossey offers, especially as we aim to contribute to Christian witness in a troubled world through the message of peace and love,” he said.

The visit highlighted the shared commitment of Bossey and Taizé to nurturing faith, reconciliation, and peace through prayer, dialogue, and community life.
