Global Ecumenical Theological Institute 2017

The Global Ecumenical Theological Institute 2017 is an ecumenical-theological initiative for education and encounter for advanced theology students from all over the world who are studying in Europe. The concrete encounter and joint studies will contribute to a European network of contacts and strengthen the mutual perception of European and migration churches. Participants shall study and experience horizons of an ecumenical theology and ecclesiology.

GETI 2017, Region: Europe

The Global Ecumenical Theological Institute (GETI) 2017 is an ecumenical-theological initiative for education and encounter for advanced theology students from all over the world who are studying in Europe. The concrete encounter and joint studies will contribute to a European network of contacts and strengthen the mutual perception of European and migration churches.

Participants shall study and experience horizons of an ecumenical theology and ecclesiology, under the orientation of three key themes: Reforming Theology; Migrating Church; and Transforming Society.

GETI 2017 is an initiative for ecumenical education in Europe and worldwide under the patronage of the Conference of European Churches (CEC). It is supported by several European churches, mission bodies and universities through financial aid as well as personell assistance.

The Global Ecumenical Theological Institute was first organized by the World Council of Churches’ at its 10th Assembly in 2013, and the the World Council of Churches is organizing another Global Ecumenical Theological Institute in Arusha, Tanzania in 2018.
