World Council of Churches invites member churches worldwide for global prayer for peace on the Korean Peninsula, “A Light of Peace”, from 1 March to 15 August.

A global prayer campaign for peace on the Korean Peninsula will occur from 1 March to 15 August, inviting hundreds of thousands of people worldwide to say: “We Pray, Peace Now, End the War!”

During the campaign 70 prayers and stories will be published, corresponding with a commemoration of 70 years since the Korean War in 2020. In cooperation with the National Council of Churches in Korea, prayers will be published online each week.

Representatives from churches in Korean Peninsula and worldwide are invited to reflect on the significance of 70 years, and share their hope for the future. The campaign will also issue a clarion call for a nuclear-free Korean Peninsula as part of a nuclear-free world.
